Who we are

This policy explains how First Paddock Co Pty Ltd, ABN 12 701 615 787, trading as First Paddock, handles your personal information when you use firstpaddock.com.au or buy from us.

We are a small Australian business. We collect what we need to sell you fencing gear and get it to your gate, and not much else.

What we collect

When you buy from us: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, billing address, and what you ordered.

When you pay: your payment is processed by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded and the last few digits and card type. We never see or store your full card number.

When you contact us: whatever you tell us in your email or message.

When you sign up for emails: your email address and, if you give it, your name.

When you browse the site: your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you look at, and how you got here. This comes through cookies and similar technology, and through analytics and advertising tools.

How we use it

To process, pack, dispatch and deliver your order
To contact you about your order, including delivery updates and any problem with it
To handle returns, refunds and warranty claims
To answer your questions
To send you marketing emails, if you have asked for them
To understand how the site is used and make it better
To show you relevant advertising, and to measure whether our advertising works
To detect and prevent fraud
To meet our legal and tax obligations

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information.

We share it with the businesses that help us run the shop:

Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf
Our payment providers, including Shopify Payments, to take your payment securely
Australia Post, to get your order to you
Analytics and advertising platforms, which may include Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta, to understand site usage and to measure and target advertising
Our email provider, to send order notifications and any marketing you have opted into
Our accountant, and government agencies, where the law requires it

Sending information overseas

Some of the services above, including Shopify and the advertising and analytics platforms, store and process information outside Australia. By using the site you accept that your information may be handled overseas by our service providers.

Marketing

We only send marketing emails to people who have asked for them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately.

Unsubscribing does not stop transactional emails about an order you have placed, such as your order confirmation and dispatch notification.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may stop working properly if you do.

Keeping your information

We keep your information for as long as we need it to run the shop, meet our record-keeping and tax obligations, and deal with any warranty or dispute that might come up.

No system is completely secure. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we rely on Shopify's security for the store itself, but we cannot guarantee it absolutely.

Getting a copy, or fixing something

Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you and correct anything that is wrong. If you want us to delete your information, tell us and we will, unless we are required to keep it for tax or legal reasons.
